REEdI (Rethinking Engineering Education in Ireland) is funded through the Higher Education Authorities (HEA) Human Capital Initiative (HCI) Pillar 3, that aims to deliver a transformative pipeline of next generation of engineers to meet the needs of the manufacturing sector in Ireland now and into the future.
The curriculum integrates immersive technologies such as virtual reality and augmented reality, as well as cutting-edge models of engineering education. With the first two years focused on campus teaching and In the third and fourth years, students will participate in a two-year paid internship at university-affiliated companies to gain better career preparation for future industry engagement. The industry partners cover various manufacturing sectors, including medical technology, pharmaceuticals, automotive, general manufacturing, and agricultural technology.
